Obama: ‘Raising the Debt Ceiling…Does Not Increase Our Debt,’ Though It Has ‘Over 100 Times’

Raising the debt ceiling doesn’t increase the nation’s debt, Pres. Obama declared in a speech today.

In a speech at the Business Roundtable headquarters in Washington, D.C., Obama dismissed concerns about raising the debt ceiling by noting that it’d been done so many times in the past:

“Now, this debt ceiling — I just want to remind people in case you haven’t been keeping up — raising the debt ceiling, which has been done over a hundred times, does not increase our debt; it does not somehow promote profligacy. All it does is it says you got to pay the bills that you’ve already racked up, Congress. It’s a basic function of making sure that the full faith and credit of the United States is preserved.”

Obama is playing a word game to fool his slaves. The act of raising the debt ceiling does not raise increase our debt. But the increase of debt is likely to follow immediately. It definitely promotes profligacy as history has shown over a hundred times. What history has shown is that the new debt ceiling will be reached within a year of two. If raising the debt ceiling does not cause an increase in debt, what’s the point of raising the debt ceiling?

(NaturalNews) In a breakthrough moment of truth for the CDC, the agency now openly admits that prescription antibiotics have led to a catastrophic rise in superbugs, causing the death of at least 23,000 Americans each year (an estimate even the CDC calls “conservative”).

This is the conclusion of the CDC’s new Threat Report 2013, a document that for the first time quantifies the number of fatalities happening in America due to antibiotic-resistant superbugs.

What’s truly astonishing about this report is that it admits, in effect, that modern medicine is a failure when it comes to infectious disease. The whole approach of fighting bugs with isolated chemicals was doomed to fail from the start, of course, since Mother Nature adapts to chemical threats far more quickly than drug companies can roll out new chemicals.

Sadly, the very approach of using an isolated chemical to combat disease is rooted in a 1950’s mentality that has nearly reached its endpoint in the history of medicine. Natural health is very en vogue right now. It’s trendy to have cloth shopping bags, to shop at the farmer’s market and to forgo entire food groups or nutrients because of what might be in them or how your body reacts. It’s cool to juice, to make your own medicines, and to talk trash about Monsanto.

It’s because natural health has become a trend that there is almost too much information out there. For someone accustomed to getting their breakfast at a drive-thru and their dinner in the freezer section, it can be difficult to know where to start and what to believe. Fortunately, eating better for your health and for the collective health of all of us doesn’t have to be difficult. It can begin with five simple steps.

1.Processed foods are out. If it’s in a box, it more than likely contains genetically modified organisms, specifically corn. If it’s in a can, it contains something called bisphenol-A (BPA), known to have serious repercussions for the reproductive and endocrine systems. Basically, if it won’t “go bad”, it’s bad. You will find very few healthful foods in the inner aisles of your grocery store. Bags, boxes, cans, and other packages are typically food-like substances loaded with unknown ingredients. Stay away from these processed foods as much as possible.

2.Become a label reader. If your food has an ingredient’s list (only produce and animal products don’t), read it. Learn about what’s in the foods you love the most. Generally, if you can’t pronounce it, you shouldn’t be putting it in your body. Look for short ingredient’s lists and only components you recognize as being natural and healthful.

It seems that the rest of the world is catching up to what a few of us have known for quite some time, and that is, “organic” is not necessarily “organic.” The “organic” status of any product appears to rest solely on the honesty and integrity of the company selling the product, and not on the label.

Leaders in North America’s organic movement say it’s time to tell consumers that organic food does contain genetically modified organisms.

Speaking at the Guelph Organic Conference in early February, Dag Falck, organic program manager with Nature’s Path, one of the largest manufacturers of organic breakfast cereals and snack bars in North America, said the organic movement has to have an honest conversation with the public about GMOs.

Despite public perceptions that organic products are GM free, Falck said organic food made from corn, soybeans, canola and sugar definitely contain GMOs.

What we have is a USDA National Organics Program (NOP) that is “process based,” with relatively no testing actually required for GMOs that also allows “organic” feed brokers an exemption from organic certification, thereby allowing comingling of organic and other feed at the broker level, and a wide open policy of the USDA to approve anything Monsanto et. al. shoves under its nose. So, I should trust everything labeled “USDA Certified Organic” to be GMO-free? Did you see a pig fly past? ‘Cause I didn’t.

Enter GMO Labeling Initiative 522

If the good people in the state of Washington have their way, GMOs will be labeled with Initiative 522. At least some of them will be.

If Washington’s Initiative 522 passes, raw agricultural products that are genetically engineered, and processed foods with such ingredients, will have to be labeled beginning July 1, 2015.

FDA deliberately deceiving Americans over arsenic in rice, chicken and other foods

There is arsenic in rice, and it’s generally higher in brown rice than in white rice. Consumer Reports tested 223 samples of rice products in 2012 and found significant levels of arsenic in most of them, including inorganic arsenic (the really toxic kind).

As Consumer Reports found, it’s not unusual to see arsenic at levels of 200 ppb or more in rice-based baby cereals. Click here for the complete test results.

The release of this information freaked out the U.S. rice industry, resulting in enormous pressure being put on the FDA to try to assuage fears that rice products were contaminated with arsenic (which they are).

So the FDA, always working in the interests of food corporations rather than the public, issued a statement saying that yes, there was arsenic in rice, but no, it didn’t pose any “short-term” health risks.

Well, we already knew that. Otherwise people would be dropping dead from eating rice. But what the FDA totally glossed over was the long-term health risks from chronic exposure to arsenic.

That’s where our real concerns are found, and that’s the issue that the FDA completely ignored. The FDA’s exact language on this is, “agency scientists determined that the amount of detectable arsenic is too low in the rice and rice product samples to cause any immediate or short-term adverse health effects.”

Yeah, goofballs. We already knew that.

FDA cover-up blatant

FDA’s Reassurance On Arsenic In Rice Not So Reassuring, wrote Rachel Zimmerman of Boston’s NPR station WBUR. “When I read the updated FDA materials… it became clear that we should still be concerned about arsenic in our rice,” she wrote.
