cronies Run America, incompetents get bonuses, at least our readers wont be totally blindsided by events, a fantastic increase in money and credit is coming to the third world, massive monetization to come before the final collapse,  debt and corruption remain as major problems in first world, massive pension shortfalls, no way to raise money for large entities,

America is no longer a republic. It has degenerated into a system where the rich run the country by having purchased all of our political institutions. As a result Americans have become sheeple who are being terrorized by the ruling illuminist class. We recently saw signs of unhappiness at the “Tea Parties held around the nation. Those kinds of activities are healthy in a Democracy, but they have to be turned into further action – not just an email here and there to Congress. Remember your government considers you the enemy. You are a terrorist because you disagree with what government is doing. You disagree with a mob of white-collar criminals, who are stealing everything not nailed down and most of whom are willing to go along with a one-world government. Is it any wonder so many Americans are leaving the US?

The long arm of government is reaching into every cranny of our lives. We do not think Merrill Lynch and AIG’s incompetents should have received bonuses, but the very fact that government was ready to institute a retroactive 90% income tax rate should send shivers through every American. It should also be very disturbing when the CEO of Bank of America testifies under oath that Paulson and Bernanke forced him to shut up over the Merrill Lynch bonuses. Paulson said Bernanke directed him to do so and the Fed said no such orders were given. They are all liars.

During the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) Summit in Montebello, Canada in 2005, the “three amigos” (Bush, Harper and Calderon) released “North American Plan for Avian and Pandemic Influenza,” described as a “collaborative North American approach that recognizes that controlling the spread of avian influenza or a novel strain of human influenza, with minimal economic disruption, is in the best interest of all three countries.” The plan outlines how “Canada, Mexico and the United States intend to work together to prepare for and manage avian and pandemic influenza.”

It was hardly a coincidence that at the same time the U.S. Northern Command, or NORTHCOM, created a webpage dedicated to avian flu and subsequently ran exercises in preparation for the possible use of U.S. military forces in a continental domestic emergency involving avian flu or pandemic influenza.

Medical experts want crackdown on drugmaker money

WASHINGTON (AP) – Millions of dollars in gifts, travel and consulting fees from the pharmaceutical industry should be eliminated to stop companies from influencing how doctors practice medicine, a report by the government’s top medical advisers says.

The sweeping recommendations from the Institute of Medicine call on medical professionals—from university professors to family doctors—to shun financial arrangements with companies that have flourished over the past three decades.
Taking free lunches from company salespeople, giving paid lectures on their behalf and other practices “erode public trust while providing no meaningful benefits to patients or society,” institute panel chair Dr. Bernard Lo said in a statement.

The report calls on medical schools, hospitals and physician groups to:
—publicly report funding they receive from companies.
—not accept free meals, gifts or other items from companies.
—prohibit doctors who have a financial conflicts of interest from testing new therapies on people.

Home-school interest grows in hard times

More budget-conscious Houston families appear to be contemplating home schooling as an alternative to pricey private school tuition. Houston mother Olivia Ober, for example, plans to withdraw her two young daughters from private school next month in favor of a less expensive private home-schooling hybrid model based out of a church. “Finances definitely came into play,” Ober said.

Across the region, home-school advocates are seeing signs of increased interest. Some argue that money is a secondary consideration, if that. They say other factors — such as religion and morality — are driving the gains.
At the Home School Store on Judiway in north Houston, owner Randy Swirsky said he’s noticed more traffic.

“We are seeing a more-than-normal flow from private school to home school,” he said.

US to take majority GM stake

US taxpayers would take a majority shareholding in General Motors under a sweeping debt-for-equity restructuring proposal that the carmaker revealed on Monday in a bid to avoid bankruptcy.

Under the plan, GM said it would shut 13 of 47 plants by the end of next year, resulting in an additional 7,000 job losses. The latest job cuts would reduce GM’s US workforce from 61,000 last year to about 40,000 by the end of 2010.

Warren D. Ward, 48, was in high school when the swine flu threat of 1976 swept the U.S. The Whittier man remembers the episode vividly because a relative died in the 1918 flu pandemic, and the 1976 illness was feared to be a direct descendant of the deadly virus.

“The government wanted everyone to get vaccinated,” Ward said. “But the epidemic never really broke out. It was a threat that never materialized.”

What did materialize were cases of a rare side effect thought to be linked to the shot. The unexpected development cut short the vaccination effort — an unprecedented national campaign — after 10 weeks.

The episode triggered an enduring public backlash against flu vaccination, embarrassed the federal government and cost the director of the U.S. Center for Disease Control, now known as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, his job.

The pandemic fears of the time and the resulting vaccine controversy may be fueling some of the public’s — and media’s — anxiety about the current outbreak, said health officials who recalled the previous event.

Ward said his family discussed the vaccine in 1976 and decided not to get it. If a vaccine is ordered for this latest threat, he said, “I’m not getting it. I felt back then like it was a bunch of baloney.”

Parental rights already being lost: State could take over decisions on health, schooling, abortion

Supporters of a plan to amend the U.S. Constitution to include parental rights are warning moms and dads across the United States they already are losing their rights to make decisions regarding their children’s health, education, welfare, finances, sex education, access to abortion and even leisure time.

“The erosion is upon us,” said Michael Farris, founder of the Home School Legal Defense Association, a college and a church and now a dedicated leader in the effort to change the U.S. Constitution through the amendment process to restore and protect parental rights.

Eighty years ago, the amendment website notes, “the Supreme Court declared that ‘the child is not the mere creature of the State; those who nurture him and direct his destiny have the right, coupled with the high duty, to recognize and prepare him for additional obligations.'”

However, according to Farris, a survey last year of state and federal appellate court rulings found “the vast majority of the court decisions refused to acknowledge traditional parental rights are fundamental rights.”

A jumbo jet being chased by a F-16 fighter jets buzzed Lower Manhattan this morning, panicking New Yorkers, many of whom were forced to evacuate their office buildings.

It was not a terrorist attack, however, but a photo opportunity for Air Force One, sources told the Post.

President Obama was in Washington at the time, but the low-flying 747 circling the Statue of Liberty was one of the planes used as Air Force One, sources said.
The NYPD and the city were notified of the planned flight, but did not share that information with Mayor Bloomberg and other New Yorkers, many of whom said they were terrified.

AP IMPACT: Tons of released drugs taint US water

U.S. manufacturers, including major drugmakers, have legally released at least 271 million pounds of pharmaceuticals into waterways that often provide drinking water — contamination the federal government has consistently overlooked, according to an Associated Press investigation.

Hundreds of active pharmaceutical ingredients are used in a variety of manufacturing, including drugmaking: For example, lithium is used to make ceramics and treat bipolar disorder; nitroglycerin is a heart drug and also used in explosives; copper shows up in everything from pipes to contraceptives.

Federal and industry officials say they don’t know the extent to which pharmaceuticals are released by U.S. manufacturers because no one tracks them — as drugs. But a close analysis of 20 years of federal records found that, in fact, the government unintentionally keeps data on a few, allowing a glimpse of the pharmaceuticals coming from factories.
